Gaddafi billion: DA calls on Minister to launch investigation

The Democratic Alliance has called on Treasury to launch for full investigation into Gaddafi billion.

This is after the treasury announced that it will send back Libyan funds and assets in terms of United Nations protocols.

DA MP of Finance Tim Harris said treasury must ensure that all questions regarding murky dealings are fully answered, to avoid the risk of South Africa being seen as a deposit box for foreign despots.

Harris added that they think a full investigation is fully needed to make it clear where those funds are in South Africa and if there are any links to the ANC.
