Western Cape police arrested two men and a woman on Tuesday during an operation in Phillipi for running illegal shebeens.

The provincial government said it will be taking a strong stance against people operating illegal shebeens.

Captain FC van Wyk said that 200 litres of liquor was confiscated during the operation.

He added that the three suspects aged between 18 and 50 years will appear in the Phillipi magistrate’s court on Wednesday for dealing in liquor.
