8 people arrested in Ocean View for public violence

The police responded to a shooting in Ivory Court in Ocean View. They were informed that a suspect appeared and shot the victim, who was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, the police are investigating the incident and no arrest has yet been made.

Meanwhile 8 people were arrested for public violence.

They threw stones at a house believed is the residence of a drug lord.

Captain Thembinkosi Kinana said that the community ran to the house of an alleged drug lord, where they broke property, threw stones at the house and smashed cars.

He added that they however the police came and intervened in the situation and they managed to arrest about 8 people during the incident and managed to evacuate the family from the house where the incident took place.

“The arrested 8 will be appearing in court today on charges of public violence in the Simons Town Magistrates court,” added kinana.
