The Democratic Alliance has called
for an investigation by the Minster of Finance Pravin Gordhan into the
treasury’s resignations and vacancies.
A recent reply to a parliamentary question
revealed significant resignation and vacancy rates at senior levels in National
Treasury.
DA MP of Finance Tim Harris said the
way they discovered that 25 senior employees have left the national treasury in
the past year leaving a vacancy rate of 1 in 10 for senior officials.
“This is a concerning development
and we call on Minister Gordhan to launch an investigation into the reasons for
vacancies.” Harris added.
