Gun Free South Africa has welcomed the
swift action which was taken by Gauteng police.
This
is after two senior police officers from the Central Firearms Registry were
suspended with immediate effect on Sunday.
The two officers were suspended for their
involvement in bribery and corruption relating to firearm licensing.

Claire Taylor said that two most senior officials at the central firearms
registry for alleged fraud, bribery and corruption their suspension reiterates
gun free South Africa ’s call for an
immediate moratorium on the issuing of all gun licenses, permits and certificates.
“Because until the police find how bad it
is only then can they take appropriate action,” added Taylor .
