Western Cape MEC of Community Safety
Dan Plato has once again called for the army to be deployed to the
province.
This follows the murder of two
people in Manenberg in the past 24hours.
Gang violence has again increased in
the Cape Flats
Ministerial Spokesperson Greg
Wagner said the Ministry acknowledges that should
this happen the army can only serve as an aid to the police.
Wagner added that this would help
the police to focus on investigating crimes like collecting evidenced and
ensure that the rate of crime is kept at low levels.
