Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Tina Joemat-Pettersson is currently being investigated by the Public Service Commission.

She is being investigated for her appointment of Greta Apelgren-Narkedien as the fisheries deputy director general.

The Democratic Alliance requested for the investigation this year.

DA Deputy MP of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Pieter van Dalen said that this followed an interview on a television programme where Apelgren-Narkedien admitted that none of the procedures were followed to appoint her, where she later resigned from her post.

“It still needs an investigation, because South Africans need the best qualified people for the job of DDG” van Dalen added.
