Oudtshoorn Municipality temporary budget approved

A temporary budget has been approved for the Oudtshoorn Municipality.

The municipal council had before missed the annual dealine for approval which closed at the end of last month.

The Western Cape Provincial Executive was then called apon to intervene in the matter. The temporary budget approval will allow for service delivery to continue as per normal.

It will last until the end of September this year, by which time the municipality is expect to re-submit its final annual proposal.

Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde said the province has drawn a new budget and each councillor has been called for comment and it will allow them operate and ensure that services are rendered to the people.
