Police investigates ATM fire in Grassy Park

The South African Police Services today responded to an incident of an ATM burning in Grassy Park.

 
The incident took place at a filling station at the corner of Zoekoe Road and Klip Road.

 
The Fire and Rescue Services managed to put out the fire, and there were no injuries reported.

 
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and will remain subject to police investigation.

 
Police Spokesperson FC Van Wyk said that a malicious damage property case was opened for investigation on Thursday, the suspects are yet to be arrested and Van Wyk also requested that anyone with information about this incident to contact crimestop on 08600 10111.

 
“We would however like to issue a warning to ATM users to vigilant especially when using ATM’s in the early hours of the morning,” added Van Wyk.
 

He also explained that when using the ATM’s to not tamper with any suspicious looking device attached to the machine and do not approach suspicious looking people in the vicinity.


“When confronted with a situation leave the area immediately and contact the SAPS when it is safe to do so,” added Van Wyk.
