Police warn of increasing rape cases in Klerksdrop

North West Police on Thursday warned community members in and around Klerlsdorp about the escalating cases of rape.

An analysis done on reported rape cases in Klerksdrop showed that victims are raped when leaving taverns or just walking around in the early hours.

Police Spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone said they are advising people not to walk alone and should avoid talking to strangers.

Mokgabone that it is significant that the community must be proactive and work together with the police through involvement in local crime prevention efforts and initiatives.
