The South African Communist Party in Gauteng has expressed its shock after the tragic death of its former Provincial Chairperson Nkosiphendule Kolisile, who died in a car accident on Saturday.

SACP Spokesperson Lucian Segami said anyone who knew him for his leadership in areas such as Khotsong would agree that he became the far most represented SACP member.

Segame also said Kolisile will be solely missed for his commitment in the organisation.

The family has collected his body at a mortuary in the Free State.

The family members were emotionally choked at the extent of the devastation when they saw the wreckage of Kolisile's vehicle in a Reddersburg scrapyard.

It is alleged that the MEC’s vehicle collided into an oncoming truck as it tried to make way for an ambulance.

The Free State MEC of Transport Butana Khompela has promised that his department will conduct an investigation into the accident and hand over the report to the Gauteng Provincial government.
