In the early hours of this morning a
fire occurred in the Wallacedene informal settlement in Kraaifontein East.
The fire destroyed two shack leaving
seven people displaced.
Western Cape Disaster Risk
Management Spokesperson Wilfred Wolomons-Johannes said that the cause of the
fire had not yet been discovered and that authorities will be investigating the
matter.
“The occupants escaped to safety;
the Disaster Management teams were on the scene this morning to assist the
people with blankets, food parcels, clothes and building material”
Solomons-Johannes added.
