Sixteen people injured in an accident in Pinetown

Sixteen people were left injured and three critically, this is after a bakkie and a taxi collided head-on along Richmond Road in Pinetown this morning.

 It is believed that the vehicles veered off the road after impact. 

The circumstances surrounding the cause of the accident are being investigated. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said the taxi came to rest against a light pole while the bakkie was found wedged against a tree.

They were all treated on scene and transported to various hospitals for further care.
