Paramedics this morning responded to an accident whereby a fully loaded bus collided with another vehicle and then veered off the road and crashed into a ditch on the side of the road in Johannesburg.

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said 100 school children below the age of 10-years-old were in the bus at that time and they were on the way to school.

Jackson said none of the people sustained serious injuries but after paramedics had assessed the situation they found that 32 of them needed to be sent to hospital for further care.

She added that the two drivers were not injured in the accident.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are unknown at this stage and the police are investigating.
