68 newly qualified Community Care Workers on Farms graduated on Monday.

The Western Cape Department of Health said this is proof of government’s commitment to improving access to health services.

MEC of Health Theuns Botha said the focus of the farm health project is prevention and promotion, adherence and support and home-based care for injured patients.

Botha added that the project is possible through partnership between organisation of Agriculture and Department of Health.

MEC Botha further said the 68 who have graduated have paved the way in reaching out to communities on farm who do not always have excess to facilities.
