ACDP calls on the Police Minister to prioritise community needs

The African National Congress in the Western Cape has called on National Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa and MEC of Community Safety Dan Plato and Provincial Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer to evaluate what they are saying in the media. 

ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians said leaders need to judge what they are saying in the media is helpful in fighting crime in the country or jeopardizing the hard work of the SAPS. 

Christians asked the politicians to do their work behind the scenes so that the police can go out and serve communities.

He called on the Minister and the MEC to have the dirty laundry aired behind closed doors and prioritise the needs of the community.

The ANC in the Western Cape has alleged that MEC Dan Plato is working or involved with gang bosses in the province.
