The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape has called on Education MEC Donald Grant and Community Safety MEC Dan Plato and Provincial Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer to prioritize the safety of learners at schools as a matter of urgency.

This follows the on-going gang violence in the province which has spilled into schools.

ACDP’s Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians said politics must not divide the city of Cape Town because the safety of children in schools and the promotion of education is the most important thing.

Christians added they are calling on the MEC’s to get together and form a strong protection for learners.
