The Hawks
together with the National Intervention Unit arrested a 47-year-old man who has
been suspected to be a blue light robber.
The Hawks through
information they received both the Police and the Hawks entered the house of
the former policeman in Ga-Rankuwa.
Captain Paul
Ramaloko said the use of police uniform and equipment by criminals is one of
the contributors to the poor perception that communities have of the
police.
Ramaloko added
that on searching the premises the Police members detected avariety of
incriminating items, including several rounds of ammnution, a substantial
amount of money a police bluelight, sergeant and inspector rank insignia and
SAPS name badges.
The suspect
will appear in Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates Court today.
