The Commission of Inquiry into policing in Khayelitsha will not oppose an application which is questioning its legality.

Secretary of the Commission Amanda Dissel said pending the judgment on the application for leave to appeal, the commission’s office in Khayelitsha remains open to members of the public who wish to make statements.

The application which was brought by Minister of Police Nathi Mthethwa will be heard at the Constitutional Court tomorrow.

Dissel said the commission will not be opposing the application and a decision to abide the rules has been taken.

She further said the commission has assisted the constitutional court by passing certain information.
