The Democratic
Alliance said it is pleased that the multiparty ethics committee was unanimous
in its decision in finding former Communications Minister Dina Pule guilty of
abusing her power and lying to Parliament.
The matter has now
been referred to the National Prosecuting Authority and the South African
Police Service for further investigation.
DA MP of Police
Dianne Kohler Barnard said public representatives found guilty of corruption
and abuse of power should be penalised swiftly and to the fullest extent.
Barnard said the
members are determined to encourage the stricter penalty because she misled the
public, causing proper benefits to afforded Mr Mngqibisa.
