The National Sea Rescue Institute in
Hermanus and volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated following reports of
4 men, from Hawston, near Hermanus, adrift at sea on a rubber-duck off-shore of
Hangklip, between Hermanus and Gordons Bay
It is alleged that they had launched
sometime during the night but had experienced motor mechanical failure and then
their anchor dragged until they were in deep water where they began drifting
further out to sea without power.
NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon
said the men were found 40 notical miles off sea from where they had originally
gone missing and they were rescued, they are not injured but they were tired.
