The Health Professions Council of South Africa today said it is concerned about the increase number of fraudulent claims for money.

Investigation done by the HPCSA has found that over 200 doctors have been found guilty of misconduct in South Africa.

HPCSA’s Senior Manager of Public Relations and Service Delivery Bertha Peters-Scheepers said there has been an increase in the number of claims for fraudulent accounts and this is a cause for concern in the HPCSA.

Peters-Scheepers added that the professionals are claiming for services that they have not rendered or claiming on accounts that are fraudulent and that is a huge concern for the Council.
