The African National Congress Western Cape Provincial Leader Marius Fransman on Tuesday said the fight against drug abuse is not the reasonability of government alone but also that of the affected families and households.
Fransman made an official visit to three families in Mitchell’s Plain who have in someway been affected by substance abuse.
Fransman said that it is important to call on young people to stop abusing their mothers who has given them education.
“Secondly it is not a problem that the police can deal with alone; it’s not a problem that the government deals with alone, it’s impossible to put a police officer and a social worker in every household and therefore it is required from the mothers in the Western Cape to partner with us, particularly those in Mitchell’s Plain,” added Fransman.
He also said that they will ask President Zuma to visit these areas.
