Four suspects were arrested and eight firearms seized in Khayelitsha

The members of the South African Police Services National Intervention Unit were involved in two separate incident in the Western Cape, whereby four suspects were arrested and eight firearms seized.

The firearms included R5 rifle and a 12 bore shotgun and dozens of rounds of ammunition. 

Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale said the Intervention Unit Members received some information and that information led them to a house in Ilitha Park Khayelitsha.

He further said the members found a number of fire arms and rounds of ammunition and 5 empty money boxes and a red Toyota Corolla which was later found to have been stolen.

The suspects are expected to appear in court once they have been charged.
