SAHRC calls for an investigation into the the bullying incident at Vanderbijlpark

The South African Human Rights Commission has called for an urgent investigation into the bullying incident at Vanderbijlpark in the Vaal. 

A 16-year-old boy was allegedly forced to drink his own urine, he was subsequently transferred to another school.   

It has been reported a third of Grade 8 learners had experienced bullying throughout their secondary school lives.

SAHRC Spokesperson Issac Mangena said the commission will be monitoring this case closely and the basic education department is expected to guide the way forward.
