16-year-old stabbed to death at school in Randfontein

On Monday afternoon Gauteng police were called to an incident at Kgothalang High School in Bekkersdal, Randfontein, whereby a fight broke out between two learners resulting in a 16-year-old being stabbed to death.

It is said that the fight started in the classroom when the suspect threw an umbrella on the wall and pieces fell and hit the victim leading to an argument which erupted.

Police Spokesperson Katlego Mogale, said that an argument erupted, leading to both pupils taking out knives and fighting.

She added that the sixteen-year-old was stabbed several times and he was certified dead on the scene. The suspect fled the scene and is being sought by police.

Mogale concluded by saying that a case of murder has been opened with the Bekkersdal Police Station.
