ACDP welcomes patrolling security guards on Metrorail train stations

Specialist Metrorail security guards are patrolling railway lines in Khayelitsha on scrambler motorbikes while three city stations identified as crime hot spots will receive new spotlights.

The project was launched over the weekend.

The African Christian Democratic Party has welcomed the move by Metrorail and the Provincial Department of Transport and Public Works.

ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians said there is a need to encourage the citizens to use public transport but in order for this to be attractive alternative mode of transport need to ensure the safety of all commuters.
