The Democratic Alliance said
Minister of Public Works Thulas Nxesi’s frantic spin on the Nkandlagate show
how weak his case is.
DA Parliamentary Leader Lindiwe
Mazibuko said what Minister Nxesi cannot grasp is that my application to the
High Court is an entirely separate process to the investigations being
undertaken by the Public Protector.
The DA has turned to the court to
gain access to a government’s task team’s report on Nkandla.
“The only reason we are where we are
today is because the minister conducted this investigation said it would be
made public then made a u-turn and said no he is going to keep the reports as
secrets and again he will table it in Parliament then said he won't he will
submit to the secret committee and in the end he said we are not going to have
access to this report because it has sensitive information.”
Mazibuko added.
She further added that none of this
they believe is valid, they believe this is an effort by Minister Nxesi to protect
President Jacob Zuma from public accountability.
