Today, Western Cape MEC of Community
Safety, Dan Plato, launched the Community Safety 35 395 information line.
Earlier this year, the Community
Safety Act was passed and outlined in detail the department’s constitutional
oversight mandate which is mainly aimed at constantly improving policing and
traffic services.
This new mobile communication
platform allows the department to engage with the public to ensure it remains
responsive to the needs of communities.
MEC Plato said this new mobile sms info
line was supported by efforts to carry out duties and also empower the
communities of the Western Cape
