Human Settlements Department to hand over houses at Pelikan Park

The Western Cape Human Settlements MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela will today be handing over certificates to 39 beneficiaries of the 2 083 unit Pelikan Park housing development as part of a Habitat for Humanity Day. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Bruce Oom said the 39 beneficiaries are all recent graduates of the Humanity social facilitation program, which prepares the beneficiaries for home ownership. 

Oom said it is a very exciting day as more people are receiving houses and they are empowered to look after their houses.

Oom added that in reality the government does not enough resources to ensure that everybody receives houses and revised for all the housing needs.
