Western Cape MEC of Health Theuns Botha on Friday said, should the proposed National Health Insurance Scheme be implemented, it will be the largest financial project ever taken on the history of this country.
Botha said they support the principle of a
healthcare system for all.
In reality is that at present there are no
calculations on the table for the NHI that national government has in mind.
Ministerial spokesperson, Helene Rossouw,
said that, at the 3’s Company Pharmacy Conference this morning, the Western
Cape Minister of Health, Theuns Botha told the audience that the country’s
solution for healthcare does not lie in NHI, but in strengthening the existing
health system.
