Botha made an unannounced visit to the Khayelitsha hospital on Thursday.
MEC Botha said the medical staff is
doing a great job however more needs to be done to improve long waiting period
and staff attitudes need to change.
Ministerial Spokesperson Helene
Rossouw said he specifically visited the emergency centre to see if the patient
were in a good state.
“It was not an unusual day and he
was quite impressed to see the hospital treating more patients than expected.
The trauma centre had 150 patients,” Rossouw added.
