The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union said the South African government should ignore the suicidal advice from the International Monetary Fund.

On Wednesday the IMF issued a report showing that South Africa was under-performing in comparison to other emerging markets.

Nehawu Spokesperson Sizwe Pamla said the problems facing South Africa presently can be traced back to the same ill-advised policies that were recommended by the IMF and the World Bank after 1994.

Pamla said South Africans never voted for the IMF so therefore the SA government must do whatever is necessary to attend the problems in the country not to the recommends of the IMF.

“The IMF has failed in Greece so therefore they should not interfere in SA business” Pamla added.
