The African Christian Democratic Party said it supports the intentions of the Employment Services Bill which seeks to reduce unemployment.

The National Assembly on Tuesday passed the Bill despite fierce criticism from opposition parties.

ACDP MP and Chief Whip Cheryllyn Dudley said the focus of South Africa must be on increasing productivity and globally competitiveness.

“We have to keep in mind that over regulation can inhibit private sector growth which is clearly not the intention and will defeat the objective.

We would have like to have seen with the regulatory impact study have been done and what the result of this was, because we are convinced that it probably would not result in more jobs perhaps more red tape,” Dudley

ACDP is convinced that government is responsible for creating the environment for a thriving economy.
