The South African Police Service has since three years ago established a total of 906 Victim Friendly Rooms to assist crime victims with counselling, taking statements and enable investigations which would result in the successful convictions of perpetrators.

819 of these Victim friendly Rooms have already been established at police stations and 87 at other service points including the airport.

Ministerial Spokesperson Zwel Mnisi said they will continue from their side to capacitated police in order to respond effectively.

"We also still reiterate the call that society must be involved because through this collective effort we will ensure that we reduce such crimes against women, children and the elderly,” Mnisi added.
