The
City of Cape
Town
said it has a comprehensive safety plan for the festive season.
Mayoral
Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith said the city has joined
forces with other law enforcement agencies to help manage the flow of visitors
and ensure a safe and secure city during the festive season.
Smith
added that they have made additional law enforcements presents on beaches
and on the roads. There will be a lot of check points or roadblocks and they
have additional staff through their first 32 members of volunteer
law enforcement specials.
“Staff,
Metro Police, Traffic Law Enforcement and Emergency Rescue Services will be putting
additional amount of over time, and equally on the emergency
side, we have also built 75 reservists fire fighters,” Smith added.
