The Mitchell’s Plain Community Policing Forum today said crime during the festive season always increases.

The selling and usage of drugs is prevalent during this time.

The City of Cape Town together with metro police have planned several safety interventions for the festive season.

Mitchell’s Plain CPF Chairperson Abie Isaacs said the interventions include the introduction of added police officers and volunteers and they are all ready to help in the fight against crime.

Isaacs said crime hotspots have been identified and the focus will be on those areas.
