The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape has called on DA Leader Helen Zille to dismiss DA councilor Michael Toko.

Councilor Toko was arrested on Wednesday and appeared in court on Thursday where he has been charged for fraud relating to disability grants worth R29 500.

ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians said he must be suspended form the party with immediate effect until investigations are complete.

“We are also asking the speaker of the Cape Town municipality to take action as the speaker as he is a councilor. The DA is very quick to point when other political parties have allegations against them now they must act immediately with their own member,” Christians added.
