National Education Health & Allied
Workers Union marched to the main offices of the Tshwane University of
Technology to handover a memorandum of demands to the Vice Chancellor and to
the Chairperson of the Council.
NEHAWU Media
Liaison Officer Sizwe Pamla said the memorandum
contained a petition of issues that are of concern to workers at the
university, especially the deteriorating governance standards and irresponsible
management of the university by the Executive Committee Management.
Pamla said since the new Vice Chancellor
and the Chairperson of the Council took over they have not shown any
transparency in matters relating to workers.
He added that the union also submitted a list of grievances with the regards to the workers and they have been given seven days and failure to respond will result to more consultation with the workers and get a mandate from their views.
