The National Union of Mineworkers has
condemned the bashing of unions and the disregard of collective bargaining at
Lonfin Plant Hire and Construction.
This is after an illegal dismissal of about
84 Num members employed by the Lonfin Plant Hire and Construction.
The dismissal has to do with a
misunderstanding about working hours and an unprotected strike.
According to Num Regional Organiser
Keoagile Lekhonkhobe said the employer dismissed them without being given an
opportunity to attend a disciplinary hearing.
Lekhonkhobe said as NUM they condemned the
conduct of the employer that he decided to dismiss the employees when the
employees were exercising their right according to their contract.
