One died and sixty-seven people injured in separate accidents

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident scene whereby one person died while sixty four others were injured in a Bus accident on the N3 near Escort this morning.

The bus appears to have crashed into the back of the truck after which it rolled and landed in the center median.  

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when they arrived on scene tragically they found that one person had died on scene and sity-four others were injured six was critical injured, twenty-two in a serious condition and thirty-six sustained minor injuries.

“They were all stabilized on scene and transported to various in Escort and in Pietmaritzburg for further treatment,” Botha added.

In a separate accident paramedics responded to an accident on the N1 south bound at the N6 turnoff, Bloemfontein late last night.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santie Steinmann said upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle had left the road way and overturned several times. Three people were injured with injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

“The injured people were treated on scene before they were transported to hospital for further medical care,” Steinmann added.

Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
