The Economic Equality Charter in the Western Cape has averted its call for Pioneer Foods boycott.

Last week EEC had called for boycott of the Pioneer Foods product after it was found that the company does not comply with certain mandates.

EEC`s Wesley Douglas said after negotiations with the company the boycott was called off.

Douglas said EEC had a meeting with Pioneer Foods on Wednesday and the company promised to ensure that black SME`s will get procurements.

Douglas said the plan now is to at other companies as well and they should follow in the foot steps of Pioneer Foods.
