The National Police
Commissioner Riah Phiyega held a press briefing this afternoon in Pretoria regarding the
whereabouts of Radovan Krejcir.
Phiyega addressed
members of the media on that following an intensive investigation by a
multi-disciplinary team, warrants of arrest were obtained during the course of
the week. The police acted on these immediately, which resulted in the arrest
of Mr Radovan Krejcir and one of his associates last night. The suspects are
currently in police custody.
Police Spokesperson
Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale said the police have noted the high court
order brought by Krejcir's legal representatives and have communicated
his whereabouts to them.
Makgale said the
investigations are continuing, which may lead to more arrests being effected.
He added that the
arrests are as a result of an investigation into an incident which
occurred in June 2013. A case of kidnapping and assault with intent to do
grievous bodily harm was reported in the East Rand .
Meanwhile the
Police Ministry has commended the team that investigated the allegations
against the accused.
Ministry
