Police Minister congratulated police in Anene Booysen case sentencing

Minister of Police Nathi Mthethwa on Friday congratulated the police for the good investigative work which resulted in Johannes Kana being sentenced to two life terms in jail.

Mthethwa said the sentencing was a result of an integrated approach by the different units within the criminal justice system. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Zweli Mnisi said we congratulate the police for the job well done because if you look at this case, who is the perpetrator and the victim where young people which emphasise the point we have been making that sexual offences crime pose a major challenge for the police because 75% of them happen among acquaintances.

“We are calling upon communities to say that lets avoid another such gruesome and inhuman incident by ensuring that we partner with police in terms of fighting crime,” Mnisi added.
