Police searching for a man who allegedly raped a 21-year-old woman

The Southern Cape Police together with the George Family Violence, Child Protection and sexual offences unit is looking for a wanted suspect who allegedly raped a 21-year-old in Knysna.

Anyone with information regarding incident or the whereabouts of the suspect is requested to please contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Martin Borg on 044 803 4618 or 076 864 3633. 

Captain Malcolm Pojie said the man allegedly raped the woman while she was walking home from a tavern.  It is believed the suspect grabbed the woman from behind and pulled her into a ditch where he raped her.

Pojie added that the suspect is believed to be between 20-26 years old and is an African male who is 1.7 metres tall and was wearing a beanie at the time of the incident.
