The Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic
Development and Tourism Alan Winde said he is happy to have the Sedco 700 in
the Saldanha Bay harbour.
The Sedco will stay in the country for
three months and will create about 8 000 jobs between October and
December.
Winde said this is in conjunction with the
IDZ in Saldanha Bay and how the oil
rigs are promoted.
He added that hopefully in the next ten
years there could be about R10 billion investment and the creation of jobs.
