Two men were left trapped in the wreckage of their vehicle following a head in collision on the Hout Bay Main Road this morning.

It is alleged that a bakkie, which was transporting building supplies, collided head on into a light motor vehicle after a second light motor vehicle collided into the initial crash.

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said paramedics arrived on scene to find the two men trapped in the wreckage of the bakkie, and the Hout Bay Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to remove the vehicle from around them after which they were transported to Mediclinic Constantiaberg under Advanced Life Support Care.

Jackson
said there had been five people in the light motor vehicle that collided with the bakkie but they fortunately came out of the collision with only minor injuries. They went to hospital for further check up.

The cause of the accident is not known at this stage and the police are investigating.
