Western Cape MEC of Community Safety will today be launching the Western Cape Government’s 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign in Bredasdorp.

Ministerial Spokesperson Greg Wagner said the campaign will be focusing on the role of the family with the message safety starts in your family.

Wagner said The 16 days campaign provides the Western Cape Government, civil society, NGOs and members of the public with an opportunity to shine a light on the on-going violence against women and children.

Wagner added that it also shows the importance of partners taking care of each other and parents taking responsibility for their children.

“The campaign also sheds light on informing citizens of their rights and the services available to prevent abuse and seek treatment and counselling” Wagner added.
