Grandfather sentenced for raping a nine-year-old girl

The Esikhawini Regional Court sentenced a 65-year-old grandfather to 18 years imprisonment by for raping his nine-year-old granddaughter. 

The incident has been condemned by police saying this ruthless and barbaric attack of children will not be tolerated in our society. 

Colonel Jay Naicker said the incident took place in August this year when the 9 year-old was playing with other children outside.

“The suspect approached her where he took her to his house and raped her. hewas caught in the act by the victims mother who then reported the matter to the police,” Naicker added
