Police searching for a murder suspect in Durban

The Durban Central Police are calling on the community to assist in their investigation into the murder of a 17-year-old who was stabbed and killed near the Moses Mabhida stadium. 

It is also alleged that another woman was robbed by the same suspect. 

Captain Thulani Zwane said it is alleged that the victim a 17-year-old boy was in his car with his friends when he saw a suspect robbing a woman in his area.  He then went outside and tried to assist the woman.  While he was assisting the woman it is alleged the suspect fled the scene and he chased him.

“While the suspect was chasing the victim he caught him and an altercation ensued.  During the struggle the suspect stabbed the victim to death and he later died in hospital”. Zwane added.

Police have opened a case of murder and no arrests have been made yet.
